Mia is the new CMS on the block, but the team behind it has a great deal of experience building and working with Content Management Systems and open source technologies. We thought it was time to properly introduce the team and tell you a bit about each of the individuals involved. Anyway, on with the show...
Al Warren (alwarren) Al has been
in I.T. for about 20 years or so. His experience covers a number of different
industries including banking, higher education, and auto finance. Al
spent several years on the Mambo Core development team and briefly held
the title of Mambo Core team leader before stepping down to help form MiaCMS.Al's recent contributions include the MiaCMS core helpers class and enhancements to the core comments extensions which included adding support for Akismet. Chad Auld (cauld) Chad
is a software engineer for Yahoo! by day and a MiaCMS core developer by
night. He has a Master's degree in Information Systems, is a Zend
Certified Engineer, and a certified MySQL Professional. He has been
heavily involved with the CMS space for about 4 years now. He
spent about three years on the Mambo team in various roles including
Project Leader, Lead Core Developer, Director on the Mambo Foundation
Board, and Mambo Steering Committee team leader prior to retiring in
February of 2008. A short time later he helped found the MiaCMS
project along with the other developers list here.Chad is the creator of Mia's default WYSIWYG editors (MOStlyCE & Byte). He also led, and continues to work on, Mia's implementation of the YUI Library and the new REST API (MOStlyREST). Other recent work includes the new enhanced stats & poll results charting and sitemap extensions introduced in recent MiaCMS releases. As time permits he also maintains a personal blog at http://opensourcepenguin.net. Ozgur Cem Sen (ocs) Cem
has a Process Control & Computer Engineering degree from
Istanbul Technical University, and an MBA from National University, CA. He is with S1 Corp. as a Software Engineer by day, a
MiaCMS developer by night. His daily duties are mostly based on C/C++,
and sometimes Python. He gets his PHP-kick out of Mia during the dark
hours.
After spending just over a year with the Mambo project, he hopped
on to the MiaCMS train. During his time with Mambo he held several
roles which included; QA & Release Lead, Translation Team
(Turkish Translation), and finally Core Team Lead.Cem's long time interest in process automation led him to take responsibility of building the Ant script that packages Mia's nightly builds and final releases (so in case they're broken, you know who to blame now). oAuth and OpenID are a few of the current features resting on his plate for upcoming releases of MiaCMS. On top of his core MiaCMS core involvement he also has a few goodies that he develops and/or contributes to such as moseasymedia, a few PayPal extensions, the MiaCMS Sitemap, MOStlyREST & Bridget. Aside from PHP development for MiaCMS Cem also has an irresistible desire to develop in Python. He recently started playing with Python web technologies such as, Google AppEngine, Django and he's loving it. He also has a keen interest on developing applications for Android based mobile phones. If you'd like to take a peek at his personal blog that stirs the pot once in a while, you can find it here http://blog.ocszone.com. Richard Peter Ong (arpee) Richard
is Lead Developer (Internal Projects), SysIQ Inc. He is an active
member of Philippines PHP User Group and an Open Source
Consultant and Trainer for Commission on Information and Communications
Technology, Philippines, and Aklan State University, Philippines. His specialties include system administration, PHP, and MySQL. The MiaCMS team considers him our "jack of all trades". He jumps in wherever and whenever we need him. He hunts down and fixes the deepest of bugs, spends time working on the documentation, and is currently deciding which wishlist feature he'd like to help implement next. Aside from programming Richard also enjoys guitar shredding and blues. Past Team MembersDavid Hurley (miatheme)David started web programming during college and quickly saw the value of a Content Management System. He has worked with Joomla since its inception and had worked with Mambo before that. He has extensive experience coding for this open source CMS platform and has written hundreds of custom components, modules and templates over the years. He joined the core team of MiaCMS shortly after its initial release and is currently our lead designer. He is credited with the design of our official sites, the new logo, the default front-end and back-end templates distributed with the project. David is also the owner of MiaTheme.com, the MiaCMS template club. |
